va-kmsiteGovernment and hospital officials broke ground on the new $800 million VA Hospital to be located in Mid-City, officially launching the project’s construction phase. The new hospital is slated to open in 2013 and will be an integral component of the city’s new Biomedical Corridor. The groundbreaking ceremony was presided over by Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki and was attended by Governor Bobby Jindal, Mayor Mitch Landrieu, among others.
